Big boost to 41 bus service8.59.41am BST (GMT +0100) Sat 16th Jun 2007 Lib Dem Councillors have welcomed a major boost to bus services in the West Mains and Grange area. Lothian Buses 41 services that currently terminate at Oswald Road are to run onto Kings Buildings six days a week. The new service started on 10 June. In 2006 Lib Dem campaigners lead by Fred Mackintosh campaigned to get all 41 buses extended to Blackford Station. Until 10 June half the buses stopped at the Grange. Over fifteen hundred local people signed the Citizen petition which was presented to Lothian Buses in February. Fred Mackintosh said, "I've been lobbying for the extension of the to 41 to Kings Building for years now. The service will a great improvement for local people, student and staff. A direct bus service from Marchmont to Kings Buildings will cut car journeys and improve accessibility for people in the Grange." Related Link:
