In a week when the expenses and allowances of Members of Parliament has been front page news Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Fred Mackintosh has renewed his pledge publish his expenses to the higher open standards of the Scottish Parliament if elected as Edinburgh South's next MP at the General Election.
Fred Mackintosh said, "Members of Parliament should have had to justify their expenses to taxpayers. Attempts to prevent the public from knowing the details of how taxpayers' money is being spent on their travel will rightfully anger the very people who have to foot the bill.
"The Scottish Parliament system of full disclosure of expenses is the right system. Local people want to see their Members of Parliament standing up for the interests of their constituents and they are entitled to a clear understanding of how this is paid for."
