Give your feedback on Edinburgh's roads and footpaths

Edinburgh's Liberal Democrat led council has spent record amounts on road and footpath maintenance in 17 months since the Council elections in 2007.

The Council is spending five times as much on road and footpath maintenance as was spent by Labour 5 years ago; all in an effort to clear a backlog of neglected roads and footpaths throughout the city. The Administration has now launched an online survey to find out the views of residents and businesses to the service provided.

Commenting, Fred Mackintosh Edinburgh South Westminster spokesperson said, "I frequently hear concerns across Edinburgh South about the poor state of the roads and footpaths and I am well aware that this is a real worry for people. Thankfully after years of neglect my colleagues have recognised the urgent need to address this problem by allocating this funding and committing the Council to providing much needed maintenance of our roads and footpaths".

Cracked pavements and potholes are a real concern for Edinburgh residents and they are not just an eyesore but also a safety hazard for all road users. The Liberal Democrat's recognition of the need to address this problem sits alongside their commitment to improve the city's green travel options, as this funding will not only be beneficial to motorists but will also increase road safety for both pedestrians and cyclists.

Follow the link below to have your say in the online survey and let the Council know how well you think Road Services are maintaining the city's road and streetlight network.
